Metallurgy Meets Poetry: Inspirations of Form and Line
By Jake Harvey
I’m endlessly fascinated by structure. A well-designed building, the angles of a shadow, the repeating rhythm of tiles—architecture has a quiet poetry to it. These lines and patterns find their way into my jewellery.
Geometry gives a piece strength and clarity; texture adds warmth and depth. I’ll often layer these elements so the piece feels both grounded and fluid, precise and organic. It’s in this balance—between the hard edges of metallurgy and the soft curves of poetry—that Smith & Poet finds its voice.
